How do I identify my Kia Cerato year and series?
Confirm whether the Kia Cerato is a Hatch, Coupe or Sedan. The Cerato's driver-side centre pillar holds its certification label and manufacture date.
For Hatch and Sedan vehicles, BD meets YD in 2018, and YD meets TD around 2013. BD has slimmer headlights and a wider, more angular front than YD; YD is more sculpted than the narrower TD. Coupe choices use YD for 2013 - 2016 and TD for 2009 - 2013, so check the body before using the date.

How to install front wiper blades for the Kia Cerato?
Lift the Cerato arm and roll the blade over so the J-hook adaptor faces you. Open the cover, push the locking tab and run the blade towards the foot of the arm. The old hook will come through the adaptor opening.
Take the new blade, catch the hook inside its centre fitting and draw it back towards the end of the arm. Close the cover after it clicks. Hold the arm as you place it on the glass, then do the opposite side.
How do I install the rear wiper blade on a Kia Cerato?
The Cerato Hatch rear blade pivots off a hook-and-socket connector. Raise the arm, turn the blade until the socket releases from the arm's locating hook, and remove it without twisting the metal arm. Set the replacement over the same point, press it home and rotate it back into its wiping position.
What connector type does the Kia Cerato use?
BD, YD, TD and LD Cerato front wipers all use J-hook connectors. A Hatch rear blade has its own rear-specific attachment; Coupes and Sedans use front blades only.
Did Kia Cerato wiper blade sizes change between generations?
BD grows the YD passenger blade from 14 inches (350mm) to 16 inches (400mm), while the driver remains 26 inches (650mm). On Hatch models, the rear increases from 13 inches (325mm) on YD to 14 inches (350mm) on BD.
Do the Kia Cerato Hatch and Sedan use the same wiper blades?
The front blades match across body styles within the same Cerato series. BD uses 26-inch (650mm) and 16-inch (400mm) fronts; YD uses 26-inch (650mm) and 14-inch (350mm); TD uses 24-inch (600mm) and 20-inch (500mm); LD uses 24-inch (600mm) and 16-inch (400mm). Only the Hatch has a rear blade.
Does every Kia Cerato body style have a rear wiper?
No. Cerato Hatch models have a rear wiper. Sedan and Coupe models have front wipers only, even when their front measurements match a Hatch from the same series.
Do all Kia Cerato generations use the same front wiper-arm connector?
The BD, YD, TD and LD Cerato use J-hook front wiper arms across Hatch, Sedan and Coupe bodies.
What's the difference in the Kia Cerato BD and YD?
The 2018 - 2024 BD Cerato has sharper styling, a roomier cabin and updated infotainment and safety equipment. The 2013 - 2018 YD is the smaller previous generation, with a more rounded body and simpler dashboard and driver-assistance package.
