How do I identify my Audi Q5 year and series?
Read the Q5's manufacture date from its door-aperture compliance label. Check the lower-windscreen VIN and Audi's data label below the luggage-compartment floor for the model code.
For a 2025 build, GU has slimmer upper lights, a broader grille and a more screen-led cabin. FY Facelift has the previous body with larger headlight units. FY Facelift covers 2021 - 2025, FY 2017 - 2020 and 8R 2009 - 2016.

What is the length of the Audi Q5 wiper blades?
The 2025 - 2026 GU and 2017 - 2025 FY Audi Q5, including FY Facelift, use 24-inch driver (600 mm), 20-inch passenger (500 mm) and 14-inch rear (350 mm) blades. The 2009 - 2016 8R keeps the 24/20-inch front pair but uses a 13-inch rear blade (325 mm).
How to install front wiper blades for the Audi Q5?
Place the Q5 wipers in their change position and keep hold of the first arm. Push the square button into the narrow connector and draw the blade directly off the arm. Guide the two small adaptor rails into the replacement, then slide until the button clicks back into its opening.
How do I install the rear wiper blade on a Audi Q5?
On FY Q5 models, lift the rear arm and pull the blade along its straight slide-on tongue. Keep the replacement connector in line with the moulded channel and push it over the tongue until the hidden retainer prevents it moving back.
What connector type does the Audi Q5 use?
GU, FY and 8R Audi Q5 front wipers use narrow push-button connectors.
Did Audi Q5 wiper blade sizes change between generations?
Front measurements remain 24/20 inches across GU, FY and 8R. The rear blade is 14 inches on GU and FY, compared with 13 inches on 8R.
Do pre-facelift and facelift Audi Q5 vehicles use different wiper sizes?
The 2021 - 2025 FY Facelift uses the same 24-inch driver, 20-inch passenger and 14-inch rear blades as the 2017 - 2020 FY.
Do all Audi Q5 generations use the same front wiper-arm connector?
Audi Q5 generations GU, FY and 8R all use a narrow push-button front connection.
How do I activate wiper service position on a Audi Q5?
First close the bonnet and leave the wiper switch at 0. With the ignition off, keep the stalk at the single-wipe setting until the arms climb to the blade-change position. After replacement, lay the arms on the windscreen, turn the ignition on and repeat that hold. Alternatively, use VEHICLE > Settings & Service > Wiper change position in the MMI.
What's the difference in the Audi Q5 GU and FY?
The 2025 - 2026 GU Q5 is the first Q5 on Audi's Premium Platform Combustion, with mild-hybrid-plus drivetrains and a wide digital dashboard that can include a passenger screen. The 2017 - 2025 FY runs on MLB Evo and keeps its instrument display separate from the centre screen.
