How do I identify my Kia Rio year and series?
Confirm whether the Kia Rio is a Hatch, Sedan or Wagon. At the Rio's driver-side centre pillar, the certification label provides the manufacture date.
YB and UB Hatch models use the same blades and connector in 2016. A 2011 Rio needs a closer check because UB and JB use different blades. UB has Kia's narrow central grille and swept lamps; JB has the older rounded front. The Wagon is DC (2000 - 2005).

How to install front wiper blades for the Kia Rio?
Turn a Rio J-hook blade across the arm until the release tab is visible. Press the tab, slide the blade down the hook and move it sideways once the curved end clears. Feed the replacement adaptor over the hook with its flat face against the arm, pull upward to the clip, then confirm the lock before easing the arm onto the glass.
How do I install the rear wiper blade on a Kia Rio?
Rio Hatch rear blades attach through a moulded hook-and-socket joint. Bring the arm off the window and turn the blade until the socket is unloaded, then separate it from the hooked arm end. Set the new socket onto that end at the matching angle, click it home and check one complete wet sweep.
What connector type does the Kia Rio use?
Every Kia Rio series uses J-hook front connectors.
Did Kia Rio wiper blade sizes change between generations?
Yes. YB Facelift, YB and UB models use 26/16-inch fronts; JB changes to 22/16 inches; DC Sedan uses 21/18 inches. Hatch rear blades are 11 inches on YB Facelift, YB and UB, then 14 inches on JB.
Do pre-facelift and facelift Kia Rio vehicles use different wiper sizes?
No. The 2021 - 2023 YB Facelift Hatch and 2016 - 2020 YB Hatch both use 26-inch (650 mm) and 16-inch (400 mm) fronts with an 11-inch (275 mm) rear.
Do the Kia Rio Hatch and Sedan use the same wiper blades?
Where both bodies share a series, the front blades match: UB Hatch and Sedan use 26/16 inches, while JB Hatch and Sedan use 22/16 inches.
Does every Kia Rio body style have a rear wiper?
No. Rio Hatches have rear wipers in YB Facelift, YB, UB and JB form; Rio Sedans use front blades only.
