How do I identify my SKODA Octavia year and series?
Select Hatch for the sedan-shaped liftback, or Wagon for the estate body. Check the vehicle data sticker beneath the luggage-floor panel or in the service documentation, and use the build/model year rather than the first-registration year. For NX Wagons, vehicles built from 27 June 2022 use the MY23-onwards rear-wiper connector; earlier NX Wagons use the up-to-MY22 connector. NX covers 2020-2026, NE covers 2013-2020 and 1Z covers 2007-2013. Because the generations overlap around 2013 and 2020, confirm the VIN if uncertain. The NX is easiest to recognise by its sharper, single-piece headlights; NE and 1Z models have the older grille and headlight designs.

What is the length of the SKODA Octavia wiper blades?
NX, NE and 1Z SKODA Octavia bodies use 24-inch driver (600 mm) and 19-inch passenger (475 mm) blades. Rear lengths differ:
The NX Sedan-hatch uses the same 24/19-inch front pair.
How to install front wiper blades for the SKODA Octavia?
Park the NX Octavia wipers upright, then hold down the small top lock and pull each blade straight off its narrow arm. The 24-inch blade belongs on the driver side. Slide the new blades on without twisting them and make sure each button comes back through its hole.
How do I install the rear wiper blade on a SKODA Octavia?
On an NE Octavia, the rear blade comes off by pressing its top latch and sliding the connector along the flat arm. Fit the replacement in the moulded track until the latch engages. NE wagons use 14 inches; NE Sedan-hatch models use 16 inches.
What connector type does the SKODA Octavia use?
NX and NE Octavia front arms use narrow push-button connectors. The 1Z uses a side-pin fitting.
Did SKODA Octavia wiper blade sizes change between generations?

Octavia Wagon and Sedan-hatch bodies share the 24/19-inch front pair. Their rear blades match at 16 inches on 1Z, split to 14 inches for NE Wagon and 16 for NE Sedan-hatch, and the NX Wagon uses 10 inches.
Does every SKODA Octavia body style have a rear wiper?
Both Octavia body styles have a rear wiper. The rear length is body- and series-specific even though the front measurements stay the same.
Do all SKODA Octavia generations use the same front wiper-arm connector?
SKODA changed the Octavia front connection from side pin on 1Z to narrow push button on NE and NX.
How do I activate wiper service position on a SKODA Octavia?
Start with the bonnet closed. Turn the ignition on, switch it off and, within 10 seconds, keep the wiper stalk pressed down for 2 seconds. The blades will rise to the maintenance setting. Set the arms onto the windscreen after the blade change, restart the ignition and tap the stalk down to park them.
What's the difference in the SKODA Octavia NX and NE?
The 2020 - 2026 NX Octavia is built on MQB Evo and has more cabin length, digital instruments and a dashboard that puts most functions on the centre screen. The 2013 - 2020 NE has the earlier MQB body, a conventional transmission lever and more physical buttons.
